What are some nice safe inexpensive apartments near Glendale Community College?

I'm going to start college spring semester 2012 at Glendale Community College for Journalism & Public Relations. I currently work as both a CNA & PSS. I want to live in a nice apartment that's in a safe area and near my school. It also helps if it's near a area with CNA/PSS jobs. I'm looking or a 1 bedroom apartment that won't cost me a arm and a leg. I'd prefer it to be less than $700 a month and if possible furnished. I'm just trying to find the best deal to be able to juggle my job, college, and still pay rent. All links and information you share are very much appreciated thanks! =D
