First gyno appt and i'm really scared?

Please can someone tell me whats going to happen. I'm totally scared out of my mind. I'm 18 and recently started being ually active and decided that I needed to go, but I'm regretting the decision. I'm so nervous and have been for the past few days, to the point of tears sometimes. I'm mostly concerned with will it hurt? Will someone tell me please if it will so I can prepare myself. Also if I ask can my BF come with me into the room for support. My mom or my sisters couldn't make it and i REALLY need someone I love to be there with me. Also if I'm designated a man can I protest and get a woman? Oh and I've been on Birth Control for 5 months and I ran out of refill's (part of the reason I'm going) my appt is friday and I started my very light period. (most times I'll just need an extra light pad or panty liner. Will they still see me if its that light? Will it hurt? Please someone help qualm my fears
