Human Regeneration?

Anyone know how the study is going so far? I know there are several groups currently doing research, but after they perfect it, it may be several months or even years before the findings are published. I believe regeneration is going to replace cloning when it becomes perfected enough for use on humans. What are your thoughts on this?
